About me
I’m Charlyn Khater, a Lebanese painter from Beirut. My journey with art began at the age of five, when I first picked up a paintbrush and discovered a world where emotions could exist freely. Since then, painting has become my way of understanding myself and the society around me.
Through my work, I explore the human form, vulnerability, identity, and the quiet tensions within Middle Eastern societies. My recent pieces reflect a stronger, more intimate voice — one that dares to reveal, to question, and to challenge.
Beyond art, I am a therapist, hold a Master’s degree in Finance, and am a devoted mother. I live in Brummana, where nature and culture continue to inspire my creative path. Alongside painting, I am also preparing to publish my first poetry collection.Hailing from the vibrant city of Beirut, Lebanon.
Born in the early 90s, Charlyn's passion for art ignited at a tender age of 5, when she first picked up a paintbrush and began exploring the world of colors and creativity. Since then, she has dedicated her life to honing her skills and expressing her artistic vision through the captivating mediums of acrylic and oil painting.
My Philosophy
Painting, for me, is the language of what cannot be spoken. Every brushstroke begins with a feeling — sometimes clear, sometimes fragile — and becomes a dialogue between emotion and canvas. I do not aim to simply recreate what the eye can see, but to reveal what the heart quietly carries.
My Medium
Oil was my first love, drawn to its depth and richness. Today, I work mostly with acrylic, embracing its versatility and immediacy. I also enjoy exploring watercolor, pastel, and new techniques — allowing each medium to guide the mood and movement of a piece. For me, experimentation keeps the work alive and evolving.
